Wanda Shelley is currently co-owner, Vice President, and Head of Production for Simmons-Shelley Entertainment Studios, formerly B2 Entertainment Studios LLC, a mini film and television studio based in Atlanta, Georgia. She oversees all aspects of the projects that are placed into production and serves as co-executive producer on all projects. Wanda has over 10 years of marketing and sales experience.
Not knowingly, a visit to her close friend Tracey Baker-Simmons in LA during her pregnancy would begin a new career change for her life. Tracey convinced Wanda to invest in the 2002 independent feature film The Book of Love, also directed by Jeff Byrd and starring Sallie Richardson, Robin Givins, Treach of Naughty by Nature, and Richard T. Jones of Judging Amy. Wanda received her first Executive Producer credit from that film. Her transition into the film and television industry became reality immediately following that opportunity and decided to partner with Tracey to form B2 Entertainment LLC.
Wanda resigned from her lucrative marketing & sales career and began building the foundation blocks for her new company, B2 Entertainment Studios LLC, with Tracey. By 2005, Wanda along with her partner Tracey, and their new production company became the executive producers and co-creators of the Bravo hit reality series Being Bobby Brown starring controversial music legends Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston. With the executive production credit of this show, it opened up the doors for other opportunities and partnerships with major networks. Tracey and Wanda are developing several reality-based projects for television. Currently projects for BET, MTV, VH-1 and Turner are in development including a reality series entitled Platinum House, co-executive produced by legendary platinum producer Keith Sweat and Keia Productions, starring platinum artists Dru Hill.
Wanda attended Howard University before transferring to Georgia State University where she graduated with a degree in Marketing and Business Administration. She began her Marketing & Sales career at GTE in Irving, Texas which introduced her to the concepts of advertising.
In 1995, Wanda furthered her marketing and sales career at Astrazeneca where she excelled as a Phamaceutical Specialist and developed successful marketing strategies targeting physicians. In 2001, she was offered a position at PDI, a similar pharmaceutical company, where she took on a more challenging role managing pharmaceutical accounts. Wanda gained valuable experience managing sales territories with budgets well over 5 million dollars.
Her professional accolades include Women in Film Atlanta Chapter, IFP, NATPE, and NAFE. She was honored by Atlanta Woman Magazine as one the Top 25 Women to Watch and Youth V.I.B.E. 2006 Media Mogul award. Wanda sits on the board of directors for Myles-A-Part, a foundation for supporting families facing autism. |
